Okay for those of you who didn’t get that..

Once again, WE NEED PERFORMERS!

We’ve 2 major things lined up over the course of the weeks!

FIRSTLY, we have out usual SPGG GIGS!

We need people to PERFORM on Friday AND Saturday evenings at SPGG!

Starting from the 11th of November onwards, and every ALTERNATE WEEK!

IN ADDITION, every week, 2 people are needed to do sound for the performers. 

SECONDLY, every week that SPGG isn’t happening.. We need performers to perform @ Singtel’s Recreational Club! On Friday evenings. (;

Both these events are roughly 45mins-1hour long EACH, so that’s a rough gauge as to how much you will need to prepare. 

ALSO, performing/doing sound for either of these events earns you some benefits.. (;

In case you haven’t been checking your emails, we’re glad to announce that..

THE T2044 SHOWCASES ARE BAAAAACK! B) This time, with a twist!

There will be SIX showcases in Semester 2, held on the FRIDAYS of:

Week 2 (Oct 28) 

Week 4 (Nov 11)

Week 6 (Nov 25)

Week 13 (Jan 13)

Week 15 (Jan 27)

Week 17 (Feb 10)

Each week, 4 acts will perform one cover song and one original song. The winning act will move on to the finals held at The Welcome Party of AY12/13 (first week of school) (: And the winner will be known as the DMAT Legend! 

There will also be mystery prizes~!

Along with awards for the Best Drummer, Vocalist, etc etc..

Hey guys! I’m here today because..

WE NEED PEOPLE!

Basically, there is going to be a video shoot this coming Monday AND Tuesday. This video is going to be for DMAT promotional purposes, to showcase facilities and such AAAAAND.. We REAALLY need people to come and be a part of it! 

The shoot’s happening in T2044, from 12.30pm. Bring two different coloured tees as well!

THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE! WOOHOO! Happy holidays to all of you! ^^ We should all have a load off our chests now that our assignment deadlines have passed.. (; So I’m here SHOUTING some SHOUTOUTS, to give everyone a heads up as to what to look out for in Sem 2!! Eggciting innit. Teeheee.

Okay actually all I came to say was - we should be having several things lined up for you once the Sem starts! Forrrrr example:

All these things should be happening within the first two weeks of the Semester, so until then.. DON’T STOP JAMMING!

We’ll be calling for performers soon, so keep your eyes/ears/noses/mouths/teeth/hair.. peeled. (:

Opportunities are hard to get, so when they’re actually offered to you, you should grab them. Justsayin’ :D

Hello!! Matin has brought to us yet another interesting opportunity to perform… this time, it’s at

THE ARTS HOUSE! dedededuuuum~

Matin’s sources require 2 acoustic bands playing cover songs on early/mid july

Here’s more information on the event! you will be auditioned upon showing interest!

Name: A.C.I.D (Arts Community in Diversity)

Theme: Revive, Rediscover, Reexperience

Objective of the event:

The objectives of this event at the arts house is to provide a positive environment for artistic, cultural and community celebration. It is also to nurture appreciation and recognition for the less popular and understood art forms as well as to introduce talented artists to a wider audience.

Through our programme we hope to help educate youths and young adults about local artists and music groups on Singapore. We hope to also help them grow an interest in local artists and get more involved and more willing to support the local arts scene. 

Programme Background:

This event will take place on the 10th of December 2011. The venue has been kindly sponsored by The Arts House. The event will consist of various arts events being held simultaneously in different corners of The Arts House, giving visitors a chance to choose which programme they would like to attend.. 

Our group’s programme will focus mainly on music, revolving around the theme “Then & Now”. We plan to feature musical groups that range from the traditional to the contemporary – from the 1960s up to now, each decade will feature in an hour-long slot of (tentatively) 2 acts, catering mainly to youths and young adults. This mini-music festival will take place in The Living Room, where we will place comfortable low tables and carpets and darken the room to create a calm and informal atmosphere. We also plan to serve complimentary drinks to increase the audiences’ comfort levels. We hope that people who have never been to live music events before will not get intimidated and be encouraged to attend more arts, not just music, events.

Hello guys!

We are back and with an information-packed update, so read up and sign up :D

The first really exciting even lined up for you is the… 

“WEAR THAT DMAT T-SHIRT DAY”!! and it is happening on the 13th of July, Wednesday afternoon, 4PM!

Do wear the DMAT T-shirts if you have one of your own and support…

• Your own bands!! :D Yes! there will be a performances on that day as well and we are looking for bands to fill up the slots. 

This is a good opportunity for the year one bands- yes, year ones (we know you guys can play) to show your stuff and for everyone to mingle around the years (since we don’t get very much time together anyway). Slots are open to the seniors as well!

There’s something in it for everyone here in DMAT (and for the alumni as well). As the name suggests…

•  We’ll be selling DMAT T-shirts during this event!!

so if you have yet to grab your very own DMAT T-shirt… (Come on! be proud!), here’s your chance! and alumni! here’s your chance to come back to school, get your shirts and reminisce the old times :D

DMAT STROLLING!!!

And this is happening on the LAST WEEK OF JULY! (25th, 26th, 28th)

In case you don’t know what DMAT strolling is all about… here’s the brief!

This is an exciting way for us to raise funds for the noble cause of DMAT!! we will be dispatching teams of “strollers”, or buskers, DMAT-ers armed with guitars and a formidable arsenal of songs to Foodcourt 6. For just $1, food court 6 students can request a song from you (or songs) and you could be serenading the girl in the red cardigan you’ve always wanted to talk to ;) SIGN UP NOW!!

slots are from 12-2.45pm during your lunch breaks :D

HELLO FELLOW DMAT’ERS- warning, the following update is super-mega-jam-packed with very important announcements so listen up :D

First of all! We’re having another showcase this Friday, 6.30pm the 13th of May@2044. Not just ANY showcase, mind you- this showcase will be in musical celebration of the official launch of the… *drum roll*… DMAT T-SHIRT!!!

yes!! yes!! the official DMAT T-SHIRT is out. They have been printed in their many sizes, packed into plastic bags and stuffed into boxes, hiding in the safety of Erica’s room. Check out the final, awesome design :D

Since this occasion will be the one-and-only official launch, T-shirts will be sold at a SPECIAL PRICE of $10.50!!! *AMAZING DISCOUNT MUST GRAB IT NOW OR ELSE KINDA THING*. T-shirts sold on separate days will go for $12 a piece ;)

Secondly, we need all performers to arrive for set-up and a quick sound-check at 1.30pm@2044 before the year threes have their POD presentations so we would appreciate it if you appear on time so they there won’t be any delay :)

Thirdly, if there are anymore bands out there in DMAT who are still keen on performing on The Official Launch@2044, please send an email to the council (dmatsc@gmail.com) and we’ll very gladly include you to the list :D (but please turn up on time for sound check *VERY IMPORTANT*)

Final important thing for year ones, the council would like to collect $2 from you to contribute to the DMAT fund. Your money will be used for  funding future events such as this or getting things like DMAT shirts etc :D Pass your money to the class rep and KC (the DMATSC treasurer) will collect the money from you after the Official Launch perfomaeThe council promises to do it’s best in making your already awesome life in DMAT a whole lot more awesome :D

Hey guys! The DMAT student council would love to congratulate and a give a huge-ginormous-fat-thick-full-sounding THANK YOU to all the bands who played for the DMAT welcome thingy for their amazing performance. The energy that evening was on overdrive and would not have been such a success if not for you guys going all out!

Not to mention everyone who labored to move the equipment from T20, across half the campus, and up 4 flights of stairs (crazy work) to Dance@Moberly. A gig would not have even been possible without all of your help. The thought of DMATers coming together and setting out to hold a gig is really heartwarming and the council is so very grateful for everyone’s contributions. Gahh… thank you so much guys… :D

To the year ones, we hope you enjoyed this performance set up especially for welcoming all of you here :) and we hope that all of you would continue this awesome DMAT tradition, or perhaps even organize something like this one day :)
